If i have 1 item @ 1lb shipped from 21701 to 11786 the shipping on my site and UPS is $7.61. Perfect. If i ship two items(2lb) in the same box my site says $15.22 but UPS says $7.89. That discrepancy could make potential buyers not purchase. I'm using UPS Ground Shipping. BV 5.5. Is there a setting I need to change? The ship separately is not checked but its acting like it is.

That was my only thought. Assuming both products do not have this checked, I'm not sure what's going on.

The items are broken out by product choices. Not sure if that should make a difference.

Try turning on diagnostics mode (edit the UPS shipping method and check the Diagnostics Mode checkbox). Then put one item in the cart and request a shipping estimate. Then put 2 items in the cart and request a shipping estimate. Finally, open up the BV Admin > Options > Error Log (or Event log...I can never remember). The requests to UPS should be in the log. You may be able to figure out why the cost is doubling.

Are you ordering two of the same item or two separate items? Also make sure they aren't set up as separate vendors.

Andy: I turned on the Diagnostics mode and it looks from the xml that it is passing them over as two separate items. In the XML it is passing over two packages not one.

birdsafe: For testing I have been trying two of the same item. I tried both Ship From Store and Drop Ship from vendor. Both the same result.

tyraa: I agree that is the problem. What in my set up could cause that?

I even tried creating a product without product variations and it still has that problem. When you ship two of the same items the shipping cost doesn't double?

So we took out the shipping Dimensions per product and it seems to be OK if you are going to ship two of the same items. However, selecting two different items calculates then as separate packages when they are not. They can go in the same box. Any idea's? Has anyone else run into this problem?
